"During my resent serious illness, I was ministered to in incredible ways. Prayers, phone calls, visits, many cards of encouragement were just the beginning.
Over a period of three months, I was in several medical facilities. Afterwards, I needed transportation to the hospital several times a week, to doctor appointments and to lab tests. When my need was shared with SPEP, volunteers were there to help.
A group of ladies also made the plans needed for women to take turns staying with me during the day so that I wouldn’t be alone. When my family realized I needed round the clock care, a neighbor (also an SPEPer) invited me to stay in their home until arrangements could be made for the move to assisted living."
